Quick Tip# 1: Drying flowers and leaves for crafts

Hellooo everyone! (:

So, I do know I have been MIA for quite some time. But a few important personal events demanded my time and I must say it was spent making some of the best memories till date. Anyhow.. I will stop the blabber here and get to the topic.

I just wanted to leave a quick tip on drying flowers and leaves for using in arrangements or in any interior  designing projects, since in my next post I will be using dried roses.

Leaves are easy to dry since most of them retain their shape. For most leaves, you can just leave it to dry out in the air and for others you can dry it using the age old method of pressing it in between papers. For leaves both the method works and once they are dry, you can spray paint it to any color of your liking or choice.

Flowers are a bit tricky. Pressing them are the best way but that doesn't allow the flowers to retain their lovey shapes which isn't much help with crafts esp if you want a more life like or sculpted effect. I would recommend roses as the best flowers to use for dry arrangements. They retain their shape and almost every time their shapes are enhance once they are dried. Many people dry flowers in the pots upside up which leads to them drying in a drooping state. Not so great for any designs. I suggest, letting the roses dry upside down

Next time when you receive roses from someone special, hang them upside down and create your own special piece by having them framed in a glass box frame. :)

So do try it and let me know how it works out for you. Please feel free to share your ideas or leave a comment below.
