August 2012 Blogger of The Month

Hello again luvs!

Hope you guys are having a lush time. I am back again with my 'Blogger of the month' post. I came across this blogger on 'Pinterest'. If you guys haven't checked Pinterest yet then you are missing a world of things you need to know.

And the blogger of the month is.. Karen from "Sew Many Ways..." (http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com). Guys and Gurls alike, this is one blog to bookmark or you could print the posts out and file them for your reference. You know how so may a times we tend to dump all those tiny pieces of tools and materials into one box or basket and not do anything about it. Also, how many times have we just kept them like that and labeled the basket/box or storage unit as 'Random' out of sheer laziness. Well.. Time to snap out of it.

Karen's blog gives new meaning to the word 'Organizing'. I didn't even know you could use those plastic things that came in the cookie boxes to solve your organizing problems. I mean who knew that. Also the blog gives you a look into her craftroom which is a heaven of organized crafting tools. I can say mine looks totally the opposite of it. She has turned some random things into utterly gorgeous and useful storage units. This site is so full of inspirations. Note to self. O.R.G.A.N.I.Z.E.

You may be thinking "Oh god, enough of the ramblings', so go on check it out for yourself and leave a comment below to let me know what you think.

Till we meet the next time.. adios.

F.A.Q - Fridays. And. Quotes.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you guys are having a good Friday wherever you are. :) Today for me has been a busy day. We had guests at home and since Eid Celebrations are coming up I have been doing the traditional henna tattoo on a few people. Leave me a comment below if you would like me to do a post on the Art of Henna.

The quote for today comes from the inventor of Polaroid himself. In his own words..

"An essential aspect of creativity is not being afraid to fail."
- Edwin Land

My last post was on never being afraid of trying something new and today's post I'd like to add another important factor to it. Never being afraid to fail. It is important that we try a recipe maybe 10 times before we get it right, sames goes with crafting I must say. I have gone through so many ideas before coming to one that is workable. And yes to my friends reading this post.. this is exactly why I am awake till 6 in the morning.(P.S: I can literally hear your eyes rolling in their sockets. LOL)

Imagine if the guy who invented the Polaroid was afraid of failure. We wouldn't have the technology to capture memories.  Imagine a world without pictures. Imagine a world where for one to convey a message it would take a week like the olden days. Now imagine this.. I wouldn't be sitting here writing a blog and wouldn't have this great opportunity to connect with the billions of people on this planet.

Failure is only a simple milestone. It makes you acknowledge the error in order to rectify them. Take one step at a time and don't let the thought of it stopping you. We the people on this earth are in need of more innovative and creative people out there.

F.A.Q - Friday's. And. Quotes.

Hi ya'll..

Hurray its the blessed friday again. How I have been dreaming of this day since Sunday. Today I decided is the day I should be doing some spring cleaning so as to declutter my calender and clear up some much needed time for my crafts.

So while I am at it, here's a quote for this Friday. I feel so bad that the below is quoted anonymously because the persons deserve due credit for it.

Never be Afraid
to try something new,
Remember, amateurs built
the Ark.
Professionals built
the Titanic.
Anonymous

I would say it is important to put our thoughts, ideas, creations and designs forward for the world to see and not fear of being ridiculed. How many of us here have be pulled down by our own insecurity? Deep down I know you are remembering an incident.. aren't you?

My thoughts here are.. let yourself be ridiculed a bit. It doesn't hurt anyone and might do your inner ego a little good. Believe me, you did rather be known as a girl who spoke her mind and let the world see her wonderful thoughts than be the timid person who never speaks out. You don't have to be a professional to be perfect at something, all you need is passion for it. Let the world see your inner creativity and let them in on your ideas. And remember, the world could always do with a little bit of good.

F.A.Q - Friday's. And. Quotes.

Hello dearest readers..

Friday's in Dubai is like Sunday's in USA. Its the freaking weekend and an excuse to be lazy. I mean no one will question you when you are in bed the whole day and this is one day you can sit and simply do 'NOTHING'. Aaahh.. the bliss. :)

I just woke up after a 12hrs sleep today afternoon and felt fully energized and ready to 'B.L.O.G'. Hurray. So guys, I thought I would add some weekly post's to my blog just like the recent monthly post. This would help me keep my blog post's scheduled. F.A.Q (Friday's.And.Quotes) is my first addition to weekly posts. Hope you guys like it. And as always, do let me know your thoughts.

As for the 'Quote', I just came across this amazing and inspiring quote from the famous children's author Theodor Seuss Geisel, popularly known by his pen name 'Dr. Seuss'.

"WHY FIT IN
WHEN YOU WERE BORN
TO STAND OUT?"
- Dr. Seuss

The above is my inspiration for the day. Why follow the bandwagon and march to the crowds tune, when we each were made to be unique and with no other person who is as alike to us as our own soul. We were definitely born to 'Stand Out' in our own way.

Until the next post, stand out and shine on brighter than ever.
